So I have a walnut stained S15D and wanted a 2nd one, instead I decided to remove the red rat fur from another 115D I have and here it is, I have only done 2 sides for now as it is a PAIN to get the glue off of these cabs. In case you are interested, it took about 1 hour to remove most of the fur, and about another hour per side of sanding with 60 grit, and 150 grit to remove swirl marks from the cab, (which I forgot to do before I stained one of the sides). Anyway, the figure is not bad on the cab, I have only seen 1 eye on the wood.

Interesting. I have often thought about stripping the fur off of my S15D cabs.

I thought of offing the fur on my s15d's but if I did, would look into bedliner. Would be nice to have a bulletproof, easy to clean, nice looking stack.

I've had a S15-B birch cab laying around the house. Finally took it to a gig. Dang, that thing sounds sweet and smooth. Used a single-coiled P and SWR SM400 with it.

So I just pulled the trigger on a s15 BD and plan on pairing it with my s18 BD for an upcoming show. Has anyone ever used this set up before? I have some reservations about it being overkill in the sub lows since they are both the deep series cabinets. I am backlining a rig for a private outdoor festival.... they offered to buy me a cabinet so I figured why not.

I guess you're gonna let us know how it sounds!
The B-D goes down to 40hZ where the D and B cabs only go to 50hZ and I've never had a problem with too much bottom from either of these. If it is problem with the B-D an fdeck HPF (or any high pass filter) would cut off the low end where it sounds good to you. It can really work wonders.

Also you can experiment with the port cover on one or both cabs, could tighten up the lows if needed.

Thanks, my plan is to test them out all possible ways once I have both cabs. Hopefully a good review is coming next week!

I had a BD that I coupled with either a S15D or the 210 Bag end. Both configs sounded great. I'd wonder about coupling it with the 18 though. Sounds like a LOTTA lows!!!!

my friend used to tour with an S15D-L (the mid sized 1-15) and the small 1-18 driven by a '69 SVT head. it was the ultimate "gimme the tone of a B15 but 20 times louder" rig. words fail as to how unbelievably, jaw droppingly, stupendously flat out Magnificent that rig sounded. oops, i guess words didn't fail me after all!

I finally got a chance to run the 15bd in the apartment with my old carvin bx500 I use a a back up. I am super excited to hear this cab with the 18bd I have at the practice place. I feel bag end has perfected the round glassy low end sans mud

Just fired up my S15D stack yesterday for the first time in a while - I still love them, they are something special that I haven't heard in any other cab. I hope they never stop making them.

I switched from an Acme Low B2 to a Bag End and subsequently bought a pair of Nahas Bag End "clones".

Got a S15-D from the GC used site, sounds great with the Fender Super Bassman 300. I also have a S15X-D on the way from a TBer. Wooo!

GC has a used S15B-D, but they want $349, plus tax and shipping to CA would probably be about $500. Too much for me...
But I'm thinking I might be a Bag End convert. They are the polar opposite of my fEARfuls, but the old-school goodness is wonderful.

I used to play a huge stained wood Bag End 115 back in the late 70's/early 80's. Maybe I'm coming full circle!
