the S15B-D is my FAVE 115 cab of all time...

Yeah, it's large and a bit cumbersome to move, and it's definitely not the latest and greatest thing on the market. But it IS one of the best sounding configurations I've ever run through. :hyper::bassist::hyper: Gigging it for the first time tonight. The band has no idea what they're in for! ;)

This is from an email I received from the company a few years a go:

Thank you for emailing us about this. We have found over the years that quite a few people want to know the story behind the name. Basically, Bag End came from the original version of The Hobbit. It was the name of Bilbo Baggins' house.

Hi Guys. I am looking to get a D10BX-D cab. But i would like to know what kind of sound i am getting. I have played Ampeg SVT410HE (tight, but kind of distorted sound) GOLIATH III (tight, kind similar to the SVT410HE, but more clear, but distorted too) TE 1048H (Open, crystalline, but nice controlled sound (seemed to handle lows efficiently than those 2) and Aggie 212GS (i like the dark, scooped mids, buttery sound, but somehow, very dark) Which of these cabs sounds more alike to the D10BX-D? I have a tread asking but didn't get any Info about it. Thought i could find it here!

Been rockin' this setup ever since. Changed amps a few times, but not the cabinets.

Thats kind of what i am looking for (at least on papers) Kind of a Agguie Lows and scooped mids. I don't want an aggressive cab in the mid region (if the GS210 would be available would be a nice choice) but maybe no too dark as GS, and maybe kind of open sound...

I just picked up a S15X-CUS. Basically it's the S15X-L , which Bag End only offers as a custom build now. Cab dimensions are 18"hx18"wx22"d. All the growl and clarity of an S15x with a good deal more low end! :hyper: It matches up great with my D10X. Pushing the pair with a Genz Benz 12.0, 600 watts to the 210 and 350 to the 15.

This is one seriously good sounding rig. For stupid loud outdoors stuff, I'll add my S15B-D underneath them and get the full 1200 watts from the GB head. I don't see that happening too often ,...but it'll be fun when it does! :hyper: BTW, the 15 came with a built in luggage type handle and rollers, I had no idea that BE was offering that, nice option!

So I noticed that there was a used s15 in the guitar center website, and I pulled the trigger. My current s15 is an old birch one that is missing the cloth grille and is loaded with an old Gauss speaker. It doesn't have an input plate; it just has a single 1/4" input jack.

I'm hoping that the reddish carpet one from GC is ok. We'll see what kind of condition it's in. Im planning on driving them with my GK 800rb or 400rb. I don't think that the 100w difference should be huge, but I'm curious to see if there's a big difference.

Im also curious to see what both s15s sound like through the 800rb with the 100w amp driving my Avatar B410. Probably over kill but I'll. Have to try it...
