I'm using a Mackie ProFx12v3. I thought I read somewhere a DI box would give me that, I guess not. Do you think I could get away with playing bass into the hi-z and having both guitarists get mic'd up, or should I invest in another mic?

We were all planning on plugging directly into the mixer, would you recommend micing the amps instead? We have 3 mics total, and I'm pretty sure they're all for vocals. One of them is a Shure SM58.

Thanks for the advice! So we have 3 guitars total and a drummer, so we would need at least one of us to have a balanced line output. What would you recommend for either guitar or bass? I also have a focusrite 4i4 if that works.
