New Fender American Vintage Series - Waiting Room Part 2

After returning my '74 Jazz pictured earlier due to the bridge cover being fitted at an angle, I was told that it would be 8 weeks for a replacement as they're a limited run. So I present: '64 Jazz, Olympic White: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Will try and get some better photos. I've...

    Always bring a backup bass!

I played a gig at my local pub last month. I thought to myself 'Shall I take another bass?' & I thought nah - I won't need it, it'll just take up space & means I have to carry more/make more trips (though I only live 30 seconds walk from the pub!). Playing the last song in the first set, I...

Bridge cover position on new American Vintage '74 Jazz

I didn't actually look at the bass hanging on the wall, I was passed it whilst sat down trying a few out. I noticed that the cover was closer to the string on one side, but didn't think of it as off centre - I assumed they were supposed to be like that. I had fallen in love with how nice it was...

Bridge cover position on new American Vintage '74 Jazz

It has gone back to the shop. I am gutted, it's lovely to play & yes, I could get it fixed myself, but when paying that much for a top quality instrument I shouldn't have to. If it was a dent or a scratch I wouldn't mind, but that's just poor QC - it shouldn't have left the factory.

New Fender American Vintage Series - Waiting Room Part 2

I've just taken my new '74 Jazz back to the shop, as the bridge cover was set wrong. Didn't really notice/think about it until I'd had it a couple of days. No idea how it made it past quality control... http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/bridge-cover-position-new-american-vintage-74-jazz-973776/

Bridge cover position on new American Vintage '74 Jazz

That's what I thought... Looking at the Fender website though, it looks as though that's not how it's meant to be: Invalid Link Removed Looks like I'm taking it back tomorrow... Am gutted, it's a beautiful bass...

GASSING FOR A JAZZ! Talk me out of it or into it :)

I bought a MIM Jazz after I'd been playing bass for a few years. Whilst in the shop, I tried a Precision & liked it more, but had convinced myself I wanted a Jazz for funk / slap etc. About 3 years later though, I couldn't resist it & HAD to go and get myself a Precision - went for an American...

Bridge cover position on new American Vintage '74 Jazz

After buying a new '74 Jazz AMV, I noticed that the bridge cover looks like it's been put on wrong... Should the pickup not be in the centre of the cover? Or is this correct? After seeing a few posts about the problems some people have had with these, it's got me wondering... The bass...

    Ibanez SR Series. Educate Me.

I've got an SR500 in Mahogany - it's a lovely bass, very lightweight, easy to play, nice clean sound to it & looks to boot. I'd highly recommend it, especially for the price - I think it's much better in terms of quality than my MIM Jazz. I'll be selling mine very shortly though, as I just...

New Fender American Vintage Series - Waiting Room Part 2

Hi AndyMan, Here's a side pic, with the neck of my MIA 2008 Precision next to it. It's quite a deep neck actually, deeper than the Precision & my MIM Jazz. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

New Fender American Vintage Series - Waiting Room Part 2

Sorry for the dodgy pic, I'll try and get a better one... I went into a music shop yesterday just to have a look around - apparently it's really good, with stupid amounts of guitars all over every wall (which it does have). I went into their bass section, and walked away 2 hours later with...

    MarloweDK's YouTube account Bye! Bye!

Why did he suck? Please, do enlighten us... Maybe it's the origional jams, bass lessons or 150+ licks on YT that he put all his time into providing people with? I'm with both the responses so far... Where's your video of jamming around? ;)

    MarloweDK's YouTube account Bye! Bye!

Anyone heard of MunkyBarz on youtube? I noticed his account was suspended too, and he has playalongs... I spoke to Marlowe on Skype earlier (he asked me if I had a minute - I ended up in a voice chat for 50 minutes!), and the reason his account was suspended was for violating copyright 3...
