Hey, can anyone offer me the following info about a typical fender jazz bass neck? I just need to cross reference it with my plans. 1) Distance from nut to heel. 2) Depth of heel. 3) Depth of headstock (or is this dependent on the tuners).

So starting to build my neck out of Maple and Pau Ferro. Can I use a standard hex nut hot-rod truss rod that will be adjusted from the neck pocket? and will I need reinforcing rods? Also, do I need a 22" truss rod, or can I use the 18" hot-rods, which I have an abundance of.

Right now the template is cut out to the one on the drawing. Do you think it's ok to take the nut down to 1-1/2"? Also, can I use a standard hot-rod hex nut truss rod for the neck, and do I need to add any reinforcing rods?
