From now on I'm gonna post everything here because I creating a bit of a mess with my other posts.
So again, I'm starting to build a Jazz bass: alder body, maple neck, and pau ferro fb. I've even stumbled upon a suitable color scheme which suits my likings. Something along the lines of this:

With some minor adjustments, of course. I'd like offset fret dots to bring out the Pau Ferro, not sure about the pickguard (black or pearl) and a Badass II bridge.
But enough daydreaming for me. I've run into some issues with the dimensions... again. I'm using the J bass plans off Mimf and some dimensions from Wes @ Steed Basses but I can't get them to match up. Has anyone used the plans off mimf?
I've also been a bit of an idiot and waited too long before ordering parts. Not having the pickups was a big mistake and can anyone guide me on placement? I have the mimf plans but the dimensions for any set of pickups I can find are completely different.
Also, I'm looking for some nice alder. Went down to a place but the grain was iffy. I also found some swamp ash but unfortunately it was heart wood. Hopefully after the weekend's over I'll find some over at pj white.
