Compressor: EBS Multicomp vs Pigtronix Philosopher Bass

The Pigtronix is just fantastic. I never turn it off, there's no noise, and it sounds great. I like the grit switch, too, I just wish it was footswitchable. I really can't recommend it enough.

    Digitechrep: Bass Whammy shipping yet?

Got mine, but my picking hand is broken, so it's just sitting in the box. :/

    Distortion/Fuzz for Bass VI leads?

Blackout Effectors Musket v2. Smooth (at easily attainable settings) with tons of gain. Probably more than you'd ever need. It's more-or-less a Muff with a pre-gain, mid control, and "focus" control. Beautiful-sounding pedal.

Ampeg sound in one rackspace preamp!

My SVP-BSP preamp was really noisy. A tech who looked at it for me said they tried to cram too much stuff into one rack space.

    The best post-rock bass??

Gibson Rippers are popular with that style, but they're not easy to find. Anything with vintage flavor is going to be on the right track. Fenders, Rics, Thunderbirds. What's your budget?

My band loves the grit switch on my Pigtronix Philosopher Bass Compressor.

    Orange OB-1K

The Warwick Hellborg power amps are unusually heavy solid state amps that use output transformers, which Jonas claims give them a warmer tone.

Why compare it to anything? Why come in to this thread just to hate on something people are excited about? I'm not here to read about Genz Benz, because I've done my research on them and I don't care for how they sound. Which is why this thread is about a different product. I'm all for...

    New ESP "Stream"

I saw them on some music site... maybe Sweetwater? They had them at $2k. It's a little beyond what I would expect people to pay for an ESP. $1200 is more what I was expecting.

That's what I'm thinking. Sounds similar to what I've read about the Warwick Hellborg power amps.
