I have used D'Addario Humidpak to keep humidity constant in acoustic guitar cases. They have consistently keep the humidity in the mid-40 range.

    Getting comfortable again with pick

I surveyed picks to find the kind most comfortable. For me, Fender Mojo picks have worked well. More than a pick, it's a sleeve that fits over a standard pick. This allows you to select the thickness you prefer. The sleeve gives a firmer grip. I'm hoping your recovery goes well and quickly.

I know we all joke about our Sweetwater engineers…

I'd be ungrateful if I didn't put in a good word for Keith Klikas. He's been both knowledgeable and helpful.

    Jerry Lee Lewis, RIP

Here's a line from Jerry's wikipedia page: On September 29, 1976 (Lewis's 41st birthday), Lewis fired a .357 Magnum at a coke bottle in his bedroom. The bullet ricocheted and accidentally hit bassist Butch Owens in the chest. Owens survived. He shot a BASSIST! Maybe an accident, but...

Shoulder injury. Anybody ever been there?

Yes...shoulder separation that required surgical repair. And this is why I deeply appreciate Warwick tuners that are canted toward the bassist. Holding my arm our straight to the side while tuning is uncomfortable. Warwick figured out an ergonomic solution that doesn't come with trade-offs. I...

Should I have a chipped body on my MusicMan re-finished...?

Do you look at your bass and see the chip while you're playing it? If not, don't look at your bass when you're not playing it. Solves the problem without expense.

Bridge upgrade for 4-string Ibanez Mikro

I put in the B200 bridge. The two screws at the neck side of the bridge that are direct drop ins. I needed to redrill the other holes. This is an easy job if you use Vix-bits.

    Evel Kneivel inspired

Well done! And thank you for keeping Evel's memory alive. I remember a television program that featured Evel and his orthopaedic surgeon in a split screen pesentation. Evel was in his closet and described all his extraordinary clothes. The surgeon showed x-rays of Evel's joints and bones. At the...

How much would a small finish crack bother you?

The blemish will be invisible when you're playing. You can store it inconspicuously. We can all find bigger issues to worry about.

    Why?

When I was a kid, I remember seeing the road ahead as appearing wet when the day was hot. I thought it was true even though we never drove far enough to reach the water. As an adult, I still think I'll become a better bassist if I have more and better gear. The illusion remains even though I...
