The pickups and pots most likely date / came with the body, they aren't vintage. The pickups should have grey bottoms with a stamp and the pots at least should have nylon shafts. I had a '77 burst and this doesn't match.
I'd already own it if it were local at that ridiculous price, then just refinish to its factory state and still be way ahead.

Hard to show in pics, but the headstock is flamed and the backside of the neck is too. It's 10lbs even, really happy with this one - and this era...they sound sooo good.
I have this S8 serial with a very nice flamed maple neck (and bad-ass cig burn on the headstock too). To my knowledge, a flamed maple neck wasn't an option from factory just pure luck of the draw?
Probably an extremely common thing to avoid the fees. Buyer beware though since you lose all protection moving off the platform so you have to trust it, totally up to you on how to proceed.
Has anyone heard of the early versions having the TV logo decal on the headstock instead of the smaller post '76 version? Looking at one now, but it has the old logo, the serial is legit and matches with a TF signature, but the decal does not...
That bass has been for sale for literal years, I've made an offer on it. The seller clearly doesn't want to sell it nor is the store motivated to help him.
