Has anyone tried to take a cheap bass such as an Ibanez Mikro and make it sound full. I'm thinking if I pump up the lows it will sound like a real bass. It currently has a small, thin sound even with a Bill Lawrence P-46 in it.

I saw a passive one with Barts go for around $1100 in the SF bay area recently. Sadly they should be going for more than this but they are just not as popular as other jazz basses.

Thanks for the input on pricing the VJ4. As far as the truss rod question all I can say is the neck on this is straight as an arrow. If it has bowed in 18 years I don't think it is going to.
