Fitting a pull-pot switch to my Jazz to give the two pickups in series = P type sound and volume boost.

I'm with Honest Johnny on that one - I've done this mod to my jazz - it's not visible so doesn't "spoil" the guitar, and yes, you do get a big fat P bass sound as well as having the original jazz sound at the pull or push of the neck volume knob.
