I don't have any input for you, but since people here are running the VT, I was curious if you could explain the purpose or theory behind running the pedal in front of the amp as opposed to after the amp. Can this only be done when using a PA. I am assuming that there is not a different place...

I have heard the VT is, well more SVT sounding/Ampeg sounding. Supposed to emulate that. Do search for Tech 21 VT and you will see plenty in the effects threads on the VT for sure.
