PA Gear

Hey all,

So, my band wants to get a power amp and some speakers. We have the eq and all other stuff...got off of craigslist for like 300 bucks....sweet deal...and with a rack to hold everything too.

Anyhow, we were looking into JBL JRX 125, which is the 2x15 speaker cab with a horn for each speaker. They carry 500 continuous and 4 ohms is the load.

First, I was wondering if it is better to just get 1x15 per cabinet and get a subwoofer (more expensive route) or the 2x15 per cabinet to start and go from there.

Also, we need to power these speakers. I was looking at QSC RMX 1850HD or the QSC RMX 2450. From what I can tell the 1850HD might be a better power rating match than the 2450. Also, no clue about the HD really, except it says it works as hard in 2 ohms as others power amps do at 4 ohms. I am guessing this is like a class D amplifier as far as car audio amplifiers go.

Anyone have experience with any of these items. Lastly, having 2 cabs that are 4ohms, do you wire one per channel to keep 4 ohms or bridge to make 2 ohms in one channel. I am only used to car audio stuff, not music stuff. Thanks for any help everyone.
