I find the Hoppus snappier on the D and G Strings and love how thick and punchy it makes the E and the A string. Also the simplicity of having presets on my amp and having no tone knob makes things a hell of a lot easier. But does this mean that I wont be able to play anything BUT punk with it?

Im liking the look and old school feel of the Bird but can i get a pop punk-y kinda tone out of it?

I started with a pick and now alternate between that and fingers depending on the style of music. I personally tried resting my tumb on the pickup but the tugbar is all i can use now, i dont have a bass without one.

Thanks for the tips guys. Another option i was thinking is 3 les paul style switches but they function as an on/off and are next to the pickup they activate. Or maybe i could get arcade buttons and have them function the same way. Id prefer the les paul style though
