Semi Hollows are my favorite, particularly Gibson ES's. I have a 335 w/ p90's that I'll never part with, and is my favorite Iv'e ever owned.

I also have a shecter hellraiser with emgs and floyd rose that I'm rather fond of too, but floating bridge + locking nut means a PITA to change the tuning, so it stays in drop D.

At the top of my wish list, is a heritage cherry explorer.

Had a Squier Thinline Tele that I really liked, but it just would not stay playable for more than a couple of weeks, even after 2 complete set ups. Returned it, and got a Gretsch Double Jet, really should have gone that route in the first place. It's great. But still like that Tele sound....may be another in my future...

i quite like ibanez basses but im not really a big fan of the electric guitar stuff. Personally i use Warwick pro series bass's but i play a PRS electric.

EDIT - i guess as another point. would you agree that some compaies bass division may be better than thier guitars? i have often heard people say that although ESP/LTD have great guitarist, their basses are generally pretty rubbish. to the same token, Ibanez make great basses, but their guitars are a bit, so so.

is that a fair comment?

For many years - close to three decades now - Carvin guitars have remained some of the highest-quality, most reasonably-priced, and lowest-profile - guitars anywhere. The best of the lot are right up there with PRS & Gibson...at generally less than one-third of their prices. Throughout most of that time, Carvin seems to have treated bass guitars as something of an afterthought - although during the past five-six years or so, that has been changing, and changing dramatically.

At this point, my four Carvin guitars are all I would ever need - and would ever want...with the possible exception of a second DC127 (and maybe a Parker Fly Guitar...and maybe a Rickenbacker 360). They are:

DC127C
DC135C
SH65
CT424M

I like a lot of different guitars but my favorite players are old Guild hollow electrics (mostly with the thin bodies), pretty much anything with a DeArmond Dynasonic, various 60s oddball electrics with low output single coil pickups, and old flat top parlor guitars from lesser known makes.

If I had deeper pockets I would have a somewhat different list. But still, I feel fortunate to have these, and I enjoy all time I can get with any of them in hand.
