my bass tone can beat up your dad's bass tone.
although you may play a fender or gibson, do you like there electric guitars?

i quite like ibanez basses but im not really a big fan of the electric guitar stuff. Personally i use Warwick pro series bass's but i play a PRS electric.

EDIT - i guess as another point. would you agree that some compaies bass division may be better than thier guitars? i have often heard people say that although ESP/LTD have great guitarist, their basses are generally pretty rubbish. to the same token, Ibanez make great basses, but their guitars are a bit, so so.

is that a fair comment?

Im currently working on selling a MM Petrucci sig (too much guitar for me), and I'll be buying a PRS SE Custom 24. I like variety and versatility, and with a little bit of tinkering, I'll be able to get double humbucker, tele, and strat tones out of the same guitar.

I play Warwick basses and PRS guitars. However, I really like Ffamus guitars too, which are Warwicks guitar counterpart.

I like both Fender basses and guitars.

I like Gibson guitars, hate their basses.

I dislike Ibanez guitars and basses save a select few.

Most of the time, I choose a guitar or bass on their own merit. Rarely does the fact that I like a companies guitar mean I'll like the bass or vice versa.

I play guitar in addition to bass. My favorites are 1960 and 70s era Gibson Les Pauls. I played an early 1980s BC Rich Mockingbird Supreme which had been made for Lita Ford which was also very nice. When it comes to acoustic guitars, I prefer my Martin.

I love Fender basses, never been much of a fan of their guitars. I love Les Pauls. I bought this sucker for $75 bucks:

I play Yamaha and Peavey basses. Not a big fan of Yamaha guitars and I play Peavey Vandenberg guitar but don' t like other Peavey guitars. Like Gibson Les Paul but don't like Gibson basses.

I am a huge fan of the Hanson Chicagoans.... I prefer them far over the Gibson 335. I jave 2 of them and a Hanson Cigno... I am also a huge fan of Reverend Guitars... both companies put out instruments whose quality far exceeds their price point. If I had to pick 1 company it'd be Hanson for electrics and Lakland for basses (they are sister companies)

I bought a brand new PRS CE24 back in 1994 and still have it. The only guitars I've had that were equal to it was an original Parker Fly and a few Zions. Still have my PRS though. Since I bought it brand new it has some sentimental value. In fact that PRS and my Warwick Streamer are the only guitars or basses I still have that I am the only owner!

epiphone emperor regent or big 17" jazz boxes, epi sheraton II (which i play now), telecaster/esquire, martin &co acoustic. strats are nice too but i nail down the tremolo bridge so that it can't fall back if a string breaks you're screwed--it teeters on the tension between springs in the back of the body & string tension naturally if one or the other breaks those intact gain leverage and you're out of tune
& I like SG's w three humbuckers
& gretsch
