    Mesa Subway D-350!

Agreed, if you look at the Mesa Mark V amps for guitar, the 90 Watt is about $39/Watt. and the 25 watt is $79/Watt. I've got the Mark V:25 head, and it is all I need, plenty loud, and great feature set. Similarly I bought the D-350 because it is all I need for my uses. It's all about personal...

Aliens? Love how much of these things were "invented". Scotch Guard, Post It Notes, etc. Many by "accident", i.e. not part of the reason they were investigating. Similar things happened while we were building our instrument (NIRCam) on the JWST. We found the original ideas and designs caused...

    Why not more angled cabinets?

Technically because bass, or lower frequencies are not directional, while higher frequencies are directional, like guitar amps. Of course the cab imparts directionality to an extent, but it isn’t really necessary.

Weird front panel light show (Mesa D-350 content)

Certainly doesn't have to, but on my recently purchased D-350 I use that to charge the wireless between the bass and amp. It's quite convenient.

Yes, and the wife and I pretty much buy presents for ourselves now that we are ancient!

There’s a d-350 for sale close to home. I’m thinking about happy birthday to me present!

Why aren’t class D amps pushed on guitarist like bassist?

It's a journey. One guitar amp I had was a Marshall VS65, tube front end, solid state back end. To me is was very harsh compared to other Marshall. So dumped it. The go to amps are the Mesa Mark V, and a Reeves Custom 50. Very different beasts, but brilliant in their own right. Recently I've...

    Mesa Subway D-350!

Yes, this is quite typical with the Mesa amps. I've got a Mesa Mark V:25 for my guitar, and it has 6 channels, 12 knobs and a 5 band eq. It is brilliant when you get it setup correctly with the rig. But when the grand daughter came and turned all the knobs and switches, ugh.

I just did something incredibly stupid (fried amp content)

That sounds like the "money shift" in racing, putting it in 1st instead of 3rd. Boom goes the engine. Hope you can get it fixed easily, probably not a fuse at that part of the circuit.

    Mesa Subway D-350!

Thanks for the info. Our company owns solidworks and CST, and I work in the high tech arena. Simulation of the connectors which are close pitch does rely on the gold plating for many applications due to the high speed and corrosive Environments. I’m more structural, but the folks on my team that...

Why aren’t class D amps pushed on guitarist like bassist?

Oh, don’t get me wrong, but the top one variety on a Mark V guitar amp is like nothing I’ve ever heard in a bass amp. I’ve played bass instruments in many types of of bands from Tuba in orchestras and jazz bands to rock amplified bass. It is wonderful and necessary in the mix.

Why aren’t class D amps pushed on guitarist like bassist?

Well, as a guitarist I have 2 primary amps, a Mesa Mark V:25, and a Hiwatt (Reeves) 50. Both awe incredibly loud even with a 2x12 cab. However when hooking the 50 watt Hiwatt up to a 2x10 bass it is weak and couldn’t compete with the guitar. So the high wattage D class amps are perfect, when...

It was wind, i.e. aerodynamic loading. Like a wing that flutters. So you design the bridge to have vibrational modes which aren’t in the range of the wind loading.

I was thinking about this today after playing my Mark V:25. The Subway series would benefit from the eq as for me it is easy to adjust and see the config. Although I use it switched as a solo boost on that amp.
