    Trace Elliot SMX series tube

I've been A/B'ing some of the amps I have collected over the years. It seems the ones with the high plate voltages in the pre's really bring out more harmonics. This is true with the Demeter HBP1 and Trace Elliot AH600-12 (Peavey era) units. People say the older Trace stuff sounds better, but...

    Trace Elliot SMX series tube

Interesting. Now the big question is what does that do to the tone having such a low plate voltage?

    Trace Elliot SMX series tube

Tube voltage. Does anyone know at what voltage the tube runs at in the GP12 SMX series preamp/amplifier heads from Trace elliot? I know the more recent version from Peavey runs at over 250 volts....Just curious about earlier Trace. I look forward to any responses!

    SOLD MAS 48

What is the frequency response like for this beast? How does it compare to the (older) MAS112 with 18sound? Any details would be appreciated

Trace Elliot Launches the Transit B Preamp Pedal for Bass

Semi-parametric means that the frequency center of a particular tone stack can be changed with the Q factor constant. Fully parametric means that the Q factor (width of frequency around a particular frequency center) can be changed.

Trace Elliot Launches the Transit B Preamp Pedal for Bass

Going over the manual is says the 5-band rotary eq is semi-parametric. However, it seems that the frequency centers are fixed. So, how is the eq section semi-parametric? I know the pre-shape button shifts everything around, so is that how they are claiming "semi-parametric?"

    Quilter Bass Block

So what is the RMS power of this unit or burst power for 20ms or so?

Best value/most versatile bass for $900 or less

+1 on the Peavey Cirrus. The construction on these is bullet proof. You'll never have any neck issues. The duel humbucker design will give you the tones you need. Incredible quality and tone for the price.

    Trace Elliot - The End????

One thing I have to say is Peavey has always had high quality gear; not necessarily the most expensive gear. IMHO the Trace stuff Peavey made was quite a bit more reliable than the original stuff. How would note being able to find new stuff at a reasonable price suggest the quality has suffered?

Best used or new Bass Head for under $800

Peavey Minimega. Simply the best power section IMHO. Killer pre.

    Peavey MiniMega 1000

Surely it would be easy enough to rig one up from a low budget/light 2U rack shelf?

    Peavey MiniMega 1000

Do the IPR2 power amps also work like this?

Metal man looking for beautiful voluminous D-class amp.

Peavey Minimega has incredible power on tap. 1000w is true RMS and burst power is easily double that. Personally I think it has one of the best pre-amps too. Parametric mids with a wide or narrow Q control give you a great amount on flexibility. Even though the GB Streamliner is a great head I...

amp (trace elliot) buzz sound problem

I had the same problem with my TE AH600-12 (Peavey era) that I noticed last year at low volumes . I contacted BbbyBld about this and this is what he had to say: "There is a modification to the AH600-12 preamp that fixes that. The noise comes from the input level detect circuit for the LED's...
