Maneuvering in this landscape of D-class amps is for me an almost daunting - maybe impossible - feat, so i am glad for your advice.

I've not tried the Subway, but from what I've read I think it would be a good choice too.

I play in a very loud, two-guitar band with a 150w tube head and 2x15. I used it the other night with no PA support, and it didn't even break a sweat. Wattage isn't everything, but efficient cabs certainly help matters.

I use an 810 and a 215 in a similar setting. My amp, Crest Prolite 3.0. I use every bit of the 870w out of each channel.

Okay, first time posting so i might make some mistakes that make you go "duh"


My style of playing is as i describe it leaning towards the low end. I like the deep notes and blending in with the bass drum, however i also like to keep my distance and be more than just an addition to drums. In this persuit i like the idea of growley tones at times, and definetely some sharpness at all times

First of all, welcome to the conversations, Magnus. There are no dumb questions. Okay, there are SOME dumb questions. Yours are not.

I am not extremely knowledgeable about your preferred style, but if you want low end, deep notes, growl, and sharpness at times, the GK MB Fusion 800 could be a good choice. I agree with others that the cab might have more of a direct influence.

Seems like you're maneuvering it just fine, those three are pretty damn good. I like it clean, so it'd be Genzler or the GK. Probably the GK - every one I've had has been a great amp. But any of those three will do the job to your satisfaction, I think.

Peavey Minimega has incredible power on tap. 1000w is true RMS and burst power is easily double that. Personally I think it has one of the best pre-amps too. Parametric mids with a wide or narrow Q control give you a great amount on flexibility.

Even though the GB Streamliner is a great head I got rid of mine pretty quick do to the fact it couldn't cut through the mix. It inherently has a mid-cut tone baked into the preamp section that you'll have to overcome.

I prefer heads that sound close to flat with everything centered. I believe that's always a good starting point.

Darkglass are made in Finland so they aren't too far from you geographically, otherwise I'm not sure!
