Your Gig $ - Who Gets It?

Being a single college student, most of my cut of gig earnings goes to me, but I will usually put $20-$40 (depending on the gig) into the band checking account to pay for merch, CDs, studio time, gas, van rentals, etc. Luckily, only the 3 of us (out of 6) who are financially responsible have...

Have You Found your Bass 'Soulmate?' Pics!!

I have 2. One of which is my Geddy Lee Jazz, mainly because it's been with me since I was 13, and nothing feels more comfortable in my hands. However, my other is my Carvin SB5000, which is hands down the best bass I've ever played. It just sounds, looks, and feels so close to perfect that I've...

    School me on Markbass stuff.

My school has a few of the 210 combos, and I have never been impressed with them and often find it difficult to dial in a sound I'm happy with. Not bad, just not my thing. That said, I played through a Markbass 810 stack at a festival gig last summer, and it was one of the best sounding rigs...

Did You Regret Your First 5 String?

I didn't regret my 5, in fact it has become my main bass. I did, however, regret my first 6 and traded it in shortly after the 5 arrived. The 6 was just too much for me and my style of playing.

Most pitiful thing youve ever seen a bassist do live

I made it through the show just fine with two fingers! Still felt like an idiot though... But we played to our biggest crowd to date and put on (by far) our best show to date. Playing with a broken hand sure didn't feel good, but it was a ton of fun regardless.

Most pitiful thing youve ever seen a bassist do live

Hasn't happened yet, but this Friday night is my band's first headlining show after being an opening band for months. It's being recorded and is our biggest show to date. And I was stupid enough to break my left (fretting) hand a couple of days ago when I was drunk at a party. So I will play the...

The name of your band is...?

I'm in 3 bands currently: Glass Castles- alternative pop (this is my main project) Klusterfunk- no points for guessing what genre this is... Last Train Out- blues trio I also got to play Warped Tour this past summer in a metal band called Whispered Hallows. And I used to play in a...

    Not Good Live Bands

I thought MGMT was pretty underwhelming live. And when Hinder opened for Aerosmith... :rollno: Oh! And I played Warped Tour in Milwaukee this summer, and Blood on the Dance Floor was so bad that some of the other bands were openly jeering at them backstage and literally over half of the...

Bad Reason to Join a Band?

I would honestly say do it. I was in a similar situation last year where I was asked to join a band that was literally nothing like the kind of music I was trying to play. I wanted to play jazz or R&B or funk or something like that. Instead, I ended up joining this alternative pop band. That...

How many basses do you own, total?

I have 5 as well: 4 electric (basically 2 jazzes and 2 precisions) and an upright. There's always room for more, but I have everything I need!

    What does your username mean?

I grew up in Lake Tahoe (until I came to Chicago for college!), I play bass (obviously), and I was born in 1992. Nothing special

How many basses and guitars do you own?

I have 8 total: 4 electric basses (Carvin SB5000, Fender Jazz, Fender P, Peavey T40) 1 upright bass 1 electric guitar (Fender Tele) 2 acoustic guitars (Seagull and Dobro) I really don't have much GAS with this lineup... Unless I get another SB :D

Rank your basses in an arbitrary manner

    1. Carvin SB5000- this thing is killing. sounds great, feels great, couldn't imagine a better bass for me 2. Geddy Lee- this was my first decent bass and has been all over the country with me. it's been beat up for sure, but it still delivers the sound i want. my main 4 string. 3. Classic...
