I think George Alex Katunich (AKA - Dirk Lance, the first bassist for Incubus) is underrated. He's got just the right mix of subtlety and flash in all of his parts, and his funk work is really tasteful, especially in "Battlestar Scralachtica". I've never heard anyone really talk about him.
