Thanks for clearing that up! The serial No starts with an 84, so I assum it's an '84 model? It plays well and much lighter than I expected out of an explorer type body. I probably paid more than I should have for it, but for some reason it spoke to me....
Zombie Thread Rebirth. I just got one myself in Sunburst and was looking for more info on it. It plays well, but a little dark for my taste. It has what looks like a thick and solid mahogony body and a slim neck. THe body is heavy as all hell. Not sure what use I will have for it. I bet it...
Can someone from the club help me identify this instrument? It was listed as a "Gene Simmons" SE B20, but I think it's closer to being a B5. But it has the dual soap bars instead of the single. And I don't recall Gene playing one like this.
So I just got an email about this new release (they are taking pre-orders). I currently use an HX Stomp for a lot of my FOH supported gigs. There are many of them where all I really need is one patch of an Ampeg B-15 and maybe a splash of compression. If you're telling me I can load this...
If you have an older one, it's probably the standard 5-hole fender bridge. Any fender replacement will be fine. Hipshot Kick Ass is a nice high-mass replacement. Babicz also makes nice bridges. The Gotoh 204 is probably the best bang for the buck. All of these are availalble in black...
I am going to build out a custom bass. It will be a tele body with a tele neck. The body will be flat/satin black with 1 single coil. Back routed with no pick guard. The neck will be ebony with no inlays and flat/satin black painted neck and headstock. The body will have red binding...
That would be logical, but not what appears to be happening. The neck doesn't seem to be moving much, but the strings seem to be sitting up higher in the bridge saddles as the tension is not pulling them over as hard. I haven't measured it, but I bet it's 1 or 2 64ths.
Yea, I was thinking of going this route, ill try it first. Cheap, easy, and not permanent. If I go the heavier gauge route, I'm filing down a nut and that is more of a permanent solution.
I've been playing with a group that pretty much plays exclusivley in standard D tuning. I've tried tuning down, but I don't care of the [lack of] string tension and I notice my action rising a bit. So I'm thinking I should dedicate an instrument to this tuning and reset the neck relief and...
Just got this unit and aparenty it can do 9, 12, 18, or 24 V which is settable via 2 dip switches. However, no where on the unit or manual does it say how to set the dips. Any ideas?
