Replacing a Jazz Bass tuner under tension

It's a very simple fix- snip snip-- string tension relaesed no damage and go on about your business. One string is prob $5. But if you want to break out the power tools and goof around with a screw driver and vice grips up around all that nice wood on the headstock... what happens if the vice...

Replacing a Jazz Bass tuner under tension

DUDE lay a bath towel or something around the string so it doesn't fly all over the place and cut the string with some cutters. No need to go all tools and what not on it. You can put on a glove on your cutting hand too. I hope I'm not wrong in thinking the string is still on the tuner.

Fender Classic 50s Precision - Truss Rod Access

I have a Classic 50's and a Roadworn- if I'm not mistaken (I could be thinking of another one of my basses) you can take off the P guard and it's routed so you don't have to take the neck off. I've never had to adjust either one of mine- so I could be wrong- maybe I'm thinking of my Sting.

Why do so many players switch from Stingray to Jazz Bass?

I switched because all 5 of the Rays/sterlings I had -- had a problem with the G string disappearing in the mix. The fix I heard about was an expensive preamp . Why do that when I spent big bucks on the guitars to begin with ?????-- I just picked up the Jazz and went about my business. Beleive...

    Anyone play a G&L?

Oh yes they do. I've had more than a few. I'll still buy Fenders because of all they seem ( IMO)to be the most dependable as far as "you know what you're getting". I think it has a lot to do with the wood and finish and other things of course. I play std 440 tune Rock, Heavy Rock, Country...

    Anyone play a G&L?

I spent over $1000 on a G&L . I played it at home and it sounded fine. I played it at a gig and it had no cut thru sound. The tones kind of all ran together and it sounded muddy, dull and not good. I adjusted of course-- to no avail. I played at another gig in a different room where my P and J...
