    Random Wikipedia Finds

So after a sleepless of constantly wikipedia browsing I've now amassed an even larger collection of useless trivial knowledge so I figure why not just make a thread where you post some random interesting things you find. To start, Bill Wyman, of Rolling Stones fame, started his relationship...

    more basses = less skill?

I honestly don't see how limiting yourself to one instrument can make you better. I think if you want to develop good foundations and fundamentals on any instrument a good test is seeing how well you do on an instrument unfamiliar to you. I play bass, I don't say I play a sting ray or a jazz...

Do you or Beck support OWS?

I'm only a couple pages fresh in and instead of making a lengthy post that will probably be poorly worded I think Daily Kos: Open Letter to that 53% Guy this letter sums it up much better. Also one of the talking points I notice is that people say that the fact that these protestors have...

So Who Else Posted an Audition For Queen Extravaganza?

Uh here's mine... Seven Seas Of Rhye Audition - YouTube Granted it's mostly overplaying but I just got my wisdom teeth out and was on massive amounts of vicodin so I figured why not. I did audio and video separately just because, well I didn't know any other way... and was on vicodin.

Aspiring Bassist Shooting for Berklee - Do I Have a Shot?

Berklee student here, as far as track selection goes, if you can pull off musically go for it. It honestly doesn't matter so much what you chose to play, as long as you can pull it off confidently. Variety and doing some stuff against the mold is good, I decided to go the way of some intricate...

    Fretless in rock?

Didn't Bill Wyman of Rolling Stones fame create one of the first known electric fretlesses? Also Juan Alderete of Racer X and Mars Volta is another prominent fretless user.

    New Squier Classic Vibe Jazz?

I was at a local mom and pop guitar store today and I overhead the employees talking about how there's going to be a new surf green classic vibe jazz bass next year. I've never heard or seen anything on where on this, anyone know if it's true?

A lot of people seem to swear by Classic Vibes

I personally really like them and love I can get a bass with vintage frets at that price point. Comparing them to other basses like a MIM, well I don't know. I think that's just on a bass by bass level, there's just too many factors for me to feel safe in saying that line a is better than say...

Unable To "Hang Out" With Friends And Fans At Gigs

I just get the heaviest equipment I can and throw it all in the heaviest cases I can, and than make it all as big and noticeable as I can.

Some kind of bass electro sample pop thing!

http://soundcloud.com/kyonsuzumiya/sets/electro So around last year this time I had been listening to a lot of electronic music and also Bir Sir, which is Juan Alderete most famously of Mars Volta and Racer X, some of bass pop group that I just love. I decided that I want to start working on...

Need a New bass (fender or G&L)

The l2000 has a very versatile eq. You kind of just have to try one yourself to really understand. Also never be afraid to go over the top with your adjustment, that's just how the bass works. It's probably one of the most aggressive basses I've played though to note, but that can be dialed down.

What genre is still free from trueness?

Neo classical post prog neo hardcore is the truest to itself.

How many hours a day do you play bass?

During the school year at least four hours a day to keep up with everything, but when summer hits I won't touch it for weeks sometimes except for shows.
