How many hours a day do you play bass?

During the school year at least four hours a day to keep up with everything, but when summer hits I won't touch it for weeks sometimes except for shows.

Usually around 1-2 hours / day. I might stretch it longer by working on riffs while watching tv or something.

Usually around 2 hours a day, though there are some days where I don't touch the bass at all and others where I play for around 8. The majority of my playing time is just casual noodling, songwriting, scales, etc sitting on the bed or couch unplugged.

I play in the mornings before school, I think about playing while in school, I play in the jazz band at school, I play when I get home 'til I fall asleep, then I dream about playing while I sleep. And when I'm not playing, I'm talking about playing here on TB! Bass is all I do Although keep in mind that I play while watching TV, etc.

i'm obsessed with my favorite bass. if it wasn't so much fun to play, i would not be putting in all these hours. the funny part is that i BLOW right through my plateau's!

Two hours a day on average. On band practice days, we may go through our entire set list, which is about four hours, and we're always learning and writing new stuff.

I keep a practice bass at the firehouse and get about 2 hours or so between calls when I'm on-shift. On my off days, I usually come home in the morning to an empty house and run through all of my cover tunes at a volume loud enough to draw the police. That's about an hour and a half.

Then, after supper, I try get a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour of actual practice, but that depends on how much homework I need to help with.

OK. I will break down my practice, playing and performing schedule... I practice 30 minutes a day (average), we practice as a band for 4 hours a week, but I would only consider 3 of that playing. We play most weekends - 2 shows, 4 hours per show (we do not take breaks or stop the music) and that puts me right about 14-1/2 hours per week. Average. I have some weeks that are much less, but not usual.
So, yea, 2 hours per day averaged out is about where I sit.

im not very strict about playing every single day, but usually 30-60 mins if i dont have rehearsals or gigs. if i do, sometimes its all day.

last saturday i was doing an all day rehearsal then straight to the gig. i was playing from noon untill 1 am, with an hour commute and 2 15 minute breaks during the gig.

0-12 hours a day, which is unfortunately dependent on what tunes I have to learn, and what rehearsals and gigs I have, and not on any real qualitative study.

At this point of my life, I dont practice. I do gigs. When they finish, I put the bass in my gig bag and dont touch it again till next gig. The only time I play between gigs is if I have to learn a tune. All sad but true

If you need to get better practice all you can.

You can play too much and hurt yourself.

When you have mastered your craft there is no need for rehearsal.

I do not want to sound the wrong way here but I play at gigs and thats it. Sometimes I'll go to a jam session for some fun but not for rehearsal. Sometimes I do rehearse with fellow band mates depending on which project I'm working in at the time.

I do an hour a day on weekdays and usually 1 - 2 hours of practicing on weekends and then at band rehearsals (1 or 2 a week) Ill be playing for around 3 or 4. But Im in highschool so I dont have day jobs to work around or anything

Every day at school i play for an hour and a half in jazz band, then at home I probably play for another hour or two (either guitar or bass). Once or twice a week the band I'm in has practice after school so about 5 hours on those days.

So between 2 and 5 hours is spent on stringed instruments every day. Unless of course I'm away from my babies for a while. This summer, I'm gonna be unable to play for 10 days then 2 days after getting back I have a gig

sometimes at open mic nights I stand in with as many as 5 bands I have played 45 minute solos in studio settings I guess the most is 8 hours and many 4 hour nights a bunch of hour and a half concerts and just jammin guitar and bass around the house,I will have to figure this out it seems to be quite a bit but I feel it in my confidence level
