    Speakon to 1/4" adapter

This is totally incorrect. If he was to wire two 4ohm cabs in series, it would result in a 2ohm load, which the amp can't handle in bridged mode. Using two 4ohm cabs you need to run one each out of the 1/4 jacks, which will output 320w a side at 4ohms. And speakons or not, the amps seem to...

    Speakon to 1/4" adapter

That won't work, the LH1000 is bridged via a switch, there is only 2 poles active on it's speakon connector.

Cab Whistle - Anyone plug the unused 1/4" jacks on their cab?

Ear plugs! Used to roll up a foam earplug and stick it in the jack in my old Eden 410xlt or 410hlf, no need to now as Genz Benz are smart enough to have seal their jacks :)

    Genz Uber 115?

I agree wholeheartedly. However if you'd read this thread http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=663302 (Sensitivity or frequency response for cabs) you'd know that rpsands and many like him judge ALL equipment based on their specs, and never find the need to listen to anything to...

sensitivity or frequency response for cabs?

Not sure what youre looking at, the Ag500sc has a low mid of 400hz and a high mid of 800hz, similar no? I have a fine understanding of how eq works, please don't patronise me, it's very supercilious of you to do so and not conducive toward the discussion at hand .

sensitivity or frequency response for cabs?

My bad, I left off the SC (Single Channel) part, the eq points aren't that far off, you really are being pedantic. Aside from all the extra parts of fx loops they really arent that far apart. Hell, go find yourself an Alembic F1x with a 500w poweramp and a Hartke LH500 and see if they...

sensitivity or frequency response for cabs?

Check out an Aguilar AG500 and a Markbass LMIII, specs are fairly damn close and they sound worlds apart, same can be said for most simple passive P and J bass copies. Edit to add: I'm all for specs, they can help in some decisions, but in the end they mean nothing when in the real world...

sensitivity or frequency response for cabs?

You've described the points of 95% of the gear out there has in common, are you implying they all sound the same?

sensitivity or frequency response for cabs?

Cabs are a very small part of what makes a gigging setup. You'll never know what an amp, effect or bass will sound like with specs, how do people in the same situation go about ordering them?

sensitivity or frequency response for cabs?

Mesa Boogie don't post any specs in regards to their cabs, all you get is driver compliment, physical size and weight. I really don't think that is hurting their sales one bit. Maybe all manufacturers should take the Mesa approach and let people use their ears, let's see how quickly sales...

Mini-Rigs of Doom: Attack of the Cones-Tres

Hartke LH1000 running bridged at 1100w, 4ohms Genz Benz Neo212T That and a P bass is all I use, loud and proud :)

What can you do on a 4 but NOT on a 6?

What can you do on a 4 that you can't on a 6? Have good passive pickups :)

We have Rick James to blame for MC Hammer though..... not sure if the good outweighs the bad :)
