Yeah it's a mobile phone camera so the low end isn't as good as it would be perceived in person. I intentionally set everything flat as to not overload it. A lot of the character comes from the Hellborg rig, though. It really allows all the frequencies to shine.

For sure. The six different pickup combinations covers every genre very well.

No! They are Mayones’ own Velvetrone pickups. As a former Dingwall owner they sound nothing alike. IIRC Dingwalls are split coil while these are ceramic bar pickups.

Thanks. I have a personal story behind it. I have always loved wengé necks. Warwick etc. Enji is from the Hepburn Japanese for wengé (uenji). Ori for origami, a hobby I practiced ceaselessly as a child. Already I feel it was made for me. Anyways. Mayones announced this bass about a year ago...

IMO the dual humbucker models are the secret sauce. The dual HB Bongo just sounds so good in 50/50, there's no need to dial in only neck or bridge. Bridge pickup generally sounds a bit thinner on the Bongo compared to the Stingray; the latter has the bridge pickup in the classic Stingray...

Yeah, if I had gotten a somewhat more typical Modulus with EMG:s or Bartolinis, I might have kept it. Most Modulus basses of a similar type have had a lot more warmth and grit to the tone than mine did.
