Zon basses - is everything OK ?

I assumed none of that actually (nor did I assume or infer anything negative about you?)- I'm just saying I don't think it's because they're only chasing a dollar. I think it's because they're just not great at the business side of things. I'm not running defense at all, and I'm the person who had the longest wait of anybody by a very very large amount, I'm just saying it's not because their intentions are evil even if the outcomes are the same. The situation can be both bad and not ill-intentioned- that is all I was saying.
Maybe evil is a strong word, but I don't think it's a reach to say their business practices are shady.

I took the time to read the whole thread. I get a strong indication that Zon is just messing with Rumblefisher here, they keep promising and promising this and that and he (Rumblefisher) keeps playing along everytime. In the meantime, other people receives their basses way before he does, if he gets it.

Dont get me wrong, Im rooting for you to get your bass, a bass which you have paid in full and have been waiting for ages. You are getting treated disrespectfully, to say it mildly. But seriously, patience is a virtue, but this? This is borderline stockholm syndrome and you should have a harder and stricter tone towards Zon for putting you in to this mess of an order. Come on, you try to contact them and nothing, no answers, you do this multiple times, still no answers. Finally you get hold of them and now they sound so nice on the phone/email and promising this and that and new estimates. This also happens multiple times in the 8+ year span you have been waiting. Then you receive update that the body and neck is finished, but no pics. And then (cant remember if this was before or after, but anyway...) there is an email/phone exchange how the pickups should be routed and which electronics to use, fair enough, but this shouldnt delay the build by several months/ a year! And earlier this year, you get an estimate that a newly specced bass is ready in February this year, and now we are soon in August. I can ramble on here, But this is a mess. Again, I really hope you get your bass and will be happy for it, but this is no way to treat a customer! I rest my case.

And lets not forget the order members here who are still waiting for their orders, and even a repair to be done!

Best regards,
Jon

For those of us waiting, it occasionally feels complicated.

However, I would think that pretty much all of us find it outrageous to see Zon posting new instruments on their socials, like this one yesterday:

Most likely going to some famous musician so that he wouldn't have to wait 8 years!!!!

Joe just sent me pics of my bass in progress. He nailed the looks. Thought I'd share with everyone.View attachment 7305307View attachment 7305308
Amazing. My favorite new Zon I’ve seen in a while!! I think I’ve seen that piece- maybe from the same batch he got for my 5 and Hyperbass a million years ago? Stunning.

Congrats! What pickups/preamp? That’s going to be killer.

I wanted to have him make me another TJ with similar specs for years, so if it doesn’t end up being for you, you know who to contact. 🤣
