Amazing. My favorite new Zon I’ve seen in a while!! I think I’ve seen that piece- maybe from the same batch he got for my 5 and Hyperbass a million years ago? Stunning.

Congrats! What pickups/preamp? That’s going to be killer.

I wanted to have him make me another TJ with similar specs for years, so if it doesn’t end up being for you, you know who to contact.

Thanks, Angus. Your katalox Zon definitely inspired mine though I couldn’t source one with sapwood. Going with Bartolini CX pickups. I honestly can’t remember which preamp I specified at the time.

OH MY GOD!!!! January of 2021, I'm really happy for you that your getting close to getting your bass but this confirms for me anyways that I will not be ordering another Legacy Elite due to these way too long build times.

They didn’t. It was 12 months if I remember correctly.

Hey, last I heard bass was in paint in April, but Martin did mention they are very short handed at present so they were hopeful it’d be done by May.

I think they’re probably pretty close. Not pressing em though, sounds like they’re doing their best.

As someone who thinks the world of Joe, Martin, and their work, I feel deeply disappointed that you STILL don't have your bass.

It’s not like there are great alternatives (to waiting; not to giving them the benefit of the doubt). But I did eventually start pressing them more.

I think the best alternative is what you just mentioned - pressing them more, legal action. I'd be really tempted to just visit the shop in person lol

This topic started July 30, 2018 and here we are 10/2/2025, honestly this is INSANE!!!! and RUMBLEFISHER still doesn't have his bass, Darrin Huff owed so many people instruments and nobody was able to do anything towards him and it's most likely the same situation with Zon.
