Music Man Custom Design Experience coming!

Looks like a slight oddball finish in that none of the others (if you rotate the 3D models) seem to have a black (blue?) back - did you expect that?

But the top is stunning :)
Yeah, I guess I expected the back to look like the front, but I am cool with it being black. Goes nice with the black hardware.

Played it at practice tonight, and while it is obviously the honeymoon, still, I was amazed by the range of tones available just by dialing in the selector switch. This is my first time with an HH model, and boy, howdy, I love it! :bassist::bassist::bassist::thumbsup:
IMO the dual humbucker models are the secret sauce. The dual HB Bongo just sounds so good in 50/50, there's no need to dial in only neck or bridge. Bridge pickup generally sounds a bit thinner on the Bongo compared to the Stingray; the latter has the bridge pickup in the classic Stingray position, the Bongo does not.

...on a side note; BONGO CUSTOM SHOP, WHEN?!

I have 3 fretless basses and my first good bass, a 2007 SR5HH. On a whim I took the StingRay5 out for a whirl at home as I only play my fretless basses and that's what I'm most comfortable with.

Wow.

I'm very content with the sounds I have covered with my fretless basses but forgot how incredible this bass sounds. Huge lows and buttery smoothness. They're ceramic pickups too, and I know that's not the term associated with them but that's what my ears hear!

So I'm configuring a fretless SR5HH on the CDE, Jade Pearl, unlined fretless, matching headstock, white pickguard, white pickup covers. Now I have to figure out a way to justify the purchase. Then again for the longest time I said I only needed two basses :woot:!

And I'll add USA STERLING Custom Design Experience too!

Wow, that's not even slightly like the render on the CDE. Yours is gorgeous!

The blue actually turns out slightly lighter in photographs than it looks in person, but I would agree that it's a good bit different from the render. All in all, I just love it, though, especially with the ebony board and black hardware. That flamed roasted neck definitely exceeded my expectations, as well.
