    Preamp pedal decisions - Subway+/Starlifter/Messenger

Thank you for the insight - and for your prior posts that were always informative. It seems the newer Messengers have fewer options than the model you have - that may not be a concern since I am looking to pick up the Resonate Filter that seems to cover some of that ground. Great board - I...

    Preamp pedal decisions - Subway+/Starlifter/Messenger

I’m looking to add a new preamp pedal for recording. I have a Olympic MkIIIS and a Meatsmoke, so I have that “tube” vibe covered, so I’m looking at add a more modern, solid state sound to the board. I have it narrowed down (I think) to the Mesa Boogie Subway+, Nordstrand Starlifter or the...

    Worst band you've ever seen?

I saw Primus in Columbus, OH on their most recent tour. Les complained and criticized the crowd throughout the entire show. One guy threw a plastic cup, and he stopped 3 or 4 tunes right in the middle to lecture the crowd - not the guy who threw the cup, but the whole crowd. We got to hear how...

Does your band have a Manager?

Well put. I'm continually surprised by how little players understand the workings of their business. Managers are not responsible for booking shows. "Working" artists have huge teams including booking agents, publicists (record, tour and venue), tech crew, travel agents, financial managers...

    That awkward moment......

The song is yours - ask a lawyer. The name is the band's - ask Roger Waters.

Is convincing a young child that Santa Claus exists considered "child abuse"?

There are certainly many paths to the same goal. Most don't think of "Babylon System" by Bob Marley are a child development guide, but I'm not most.

Is convincing a young child that Santa Claus exists considered "child abuse"?

I really don't see being honest with my daughter as an impossible standard. Nor do I think all (or any) parents should share our approach. I do explain to her that what I tell her is the truth as I see it - I can often be wrong. We're teaching her about numerous solstice celebrations and how...

Is convincing a young child that Santa Claus exists considered "child abuse"?

I can only promise my daughter one thing in this life: that I will be honest with her. Telling her Santa is real is a lie. Helping her grasp the spirit of generosity is a gift. It's easier to find the real magic in this world if you're not hung up on illusionary magic.

Things you think are far too expensive.

I would say any woman requiring a diamond is too cheap. She may think she has expensive tastes, but she is in fact a cheap human. To the thread topic, +1 on food - and it is going to get MUCH worse.

    Gypped...

I'm not really that PC, but some of our Egyptian bass playing friends might take offense at "gypped."
