My experience with prog kinda blurs between prog and art rock. The simplify way I can think of it, if it must be defined. Is most music takes it's roots from blues. I.e. Defined scales and the 5 root notes. Rhythmic simple time signatures. And repetition. Prog leans more towards the jazz end...

I'm wondering, for a similar set up I was thinking of getting this rig, if anyone has suggestions, experiences, ideas, please share: Eden WTB400 amp to a 400w Peavy headliner 210. I play prog/hard rock and metal. Some jazz too. Mostly smaller gigs and practices. gO!

Comp: Markbass compresore, by far the Most in-depth compressor out there, lists of sounds too. OD: ProCo turbo RAT, a little over your budget ($199) but worth it. Everyone and the uncle has used one, not an OD per say, it's a distortion. But can do OD sounds. The plus side is you don't loose...

Do you know if you loose and grit with an Eden wbt400. I like the underdog-ness. And warmth, but I play mostly prog-hard rock. So I'd like that GK growl n grit.

I'm tiring o find a decent fuzz/wah for bass. Any ideas? All I can find are out of production or guitar only.

Personally, I think it depends on the person. If you've got a decent degree of raw talent, and have developed a natural feel for the instrument and music in general (sounds like you have) you could not play for a week or two and not be too bad off. Of course you'd need to start up for a few days...

Here's a question: do any milti effects out there allow you to play multiple effects at the same time? For instance an envelope and a fuzz?
