Funny thing is...it seems to only happen on songs you've played a zillion times. I think the brain gets bored and wanders off. It is a direct consequence of playing something so many times that you can do it in your sleep...and then having to do it while you are awake.

I'm famous in spots. There are whispers when I pass but i can't really hear them so it's hard to say what the consensus is.

Instead of using your index and second finger; try using your index and third finger more often. The index and third are usually the same length, or close to it, and easier to "gallop" with. It doesn't take long at all to learn.

I use a pick when the song requires one. Some stuff either doesn't sound right or is a real chore otherwise. I particularly like the scraping sound you can get with round-wounds and a medium plectrum.

Some necks are slippery, some are flat, some are thin, some are fat. I don't notice much difference...other than that.

I think Yamaha is the stuff people are going to wish they had nabbed when they had the chance. When have they ever made a bad guitar? When has "Yamaha" and "quality issues" ever appeared in the same sentence?
