    I just went from 105-32 XL's (EADGC) to 105-30 super brights and had to loosen the truss rod slightly to keep the relief the same.

    Ibanez do cheap fanned fret guitars so it's possible but probably not worth it for the number of basses they'd sell.

    I hardly ever slap anymore but also did it 'wrong' I used my middle finger to pop because the index was palming the pick, I slapped with my thumb pointing down which apparently was also wrong.

    Pick for me, I played with fingers for the first few years and got pretty good at it but I could never get the tone I wanted, now I've been almost 100% pick for years. I can't say I find it limiting, it's just a different technique for stuff like harmonics etc.

    Why not extend the painted headstock to the the nut rather than leaving bare wood?
