    Walrus Audio Mantle

Yes it occurred to me that is the way to test the theory after I posted. I must remember to think before I post. I’ll report back in when I get a chance

What are your thoughts on the Way Huge Pork & Pickle?

Initial thoughts, I like this pedal. It’s thick and creamy and the tone control is quite useful to dial back some of the harsh top end you can get with fuzz and OD. i tried with feeding it 18v and nearly blew my head off. It comes out hot at 18v. The clean is still very hairy at 18v, but it...

    Walrus Audio Mantle

Could it be the transformer in the Mantle picking up and amplifying some inherent noise on the board? Sigh! Back to the drawing board. (Pun intended) I thought I was being clever not having to rely on mains power.

    Walrus Audio Mantle

I am getting a 5k (ish) noise when putting the Mantle at the end of the chain on my pedalboard (pad in or out) as a final tone shaper before heading off to FOH or monitoring When used by itself (same power source) the Mantle is noiseless. The rest of the board without the Mantle also is...

What are your thoughts on the Way Huge Pork & Pickle?

Hi Team, I thought I’d try the P+P out. I read in this thread talk of headroom improving if run at 18v. Does that mean you can run this pedal at 18v or it would be nice if that was an option? I have the facility to power it with 18v but don’t want to plug in 18v and cook it. What’s the consensus?

Try posting this question on this thread. There is a lot of knowledge and wisdom over there. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/music-man-sound-and-pickups.739218/

Impressed with the Mesa Subway 115 — now I’m debating my next move (poll inside)

I can’t really add much that hasn’t been said already, however, based off of my own experience I will say this… I have 2/115 subways (driven by a wd800) 1 will cover most gigs, 2 is greater than the sum of the parts and will excel at anything you ask of it, but… If you’re anything like me, I...

Metal bassists that play a Precision?

Billy Sheehan was a P bass guy (albeit somewhat modified with an EB-O pu and Tele neck with a scalloped fretboard etc) when he played with Talas- which may or may not be classified as metal by today’s standards.

    Music Man sound and pickups

Hi Bonecat I’ve never played a Sterling Sub, but it sounds unusual for your bass to be lacking punchy mids and snappy top end. At the risk of asking the obvious- How old are the strings? Has the battery been changed recently? I’m assuming it’s active. Before you give up on it, I would give it...
