Personally on my P5 I use Sunbeams 40-100 then I use a .135 for the B. It helps me to not pull it too hard, and that helps it sound bigger.

Why not indeed. I also have a PB & a JB V. My JB is a dead ringer of yours…well not exactly a “Dead Ringer’ as it has a fresh set of rounds on it…but the same model and color. Regardless, great bass with a tremendous voice.

I have the same bass duo. On my Pro II Jazz V (rosewood), I use D'Addario NYXL 45-125s for the most articulate B string I’ve found. On the Pro II Precision V (maple), I prefer D'Addario Chromes for their nice balance of articulation and stiffness.
