LaBella Strings that are not suitable for basses with "string-through" body bridges

Thank you for the fast replies on this matter. I have them on the bass around a week, so far no problem (even with a high adjustment of the bridge and sharper break angle) but with the information you gave me, I assume that they are not going to last much (hopefully not, but probable). Thanks...

LaBella Strings that are not suitable for basses with "string-through" body bridges

Hello to all, since years I am looking for a double bass sound like experience on the E-Bass (I have a Jerzy Drozd Barcelona Etude 5 string with a high C) and after trying so many strings and setups, i decided to go this time for the Labella Originals 0760M-CB Deep Talkin' Bass, 1954 Style...

Making an electric bass sound like an upright?

You missed the point of the thread, thats all, because it is about a constructive way of getting close to the sound, not a matter of taste and opinion if its possible or not. The thread is build around the premise that it is possible.

Making an electric bass sound like an upright?

You are talking nonsense. This thread is about how to get an Upright or EUB-tone with a Electric Bass. What matters in this thread is "how to get the sound"... of course it has to do with "what to practice, learn and hear"... listening to Ron Carter, Ray Brown or Scott LaFaro gives you insights...

Electric does not sound like an upright Yes and no. The clue is to aim at the sound of an EUB instead of an acoustic upright...that does not...

Who makes a great J right now?

if you want a good craftmanship and a bass build to outlast you, i would recommend you Sandberg. Someone above mentioned them already. One Thing is that, in the case of regular J-Bass Style "California" models of Sandberg, they use mostly alder and not ash (i think). But they have also a very...

    Reverb

I forgot to leave some video of the Mercury 7 . It is new in the market and therefore not well known, but can easily compete in quality (not options) with the Empress Reverb and Eventide Space...it has only two modes: Plate and Cathedral...but the things you can do with this are inmense.

    Reverb

Hello there, I use the reverb a lot and it is a very important part of my sound. Without it, I would be naked XD It is true, that there are some problems with mids and bass frequencies regarding reberbs, but there are a lot of high end reverbs in the market where you can tweak it like you like...

Frustration on my JERZY DROZD build. Please help me.

Hello there, I did order also a Barcelona 30 Anniversary in November/Dezember. They wanted to start in January (thats what they wrote me), but unafortunately they started in March because they had many orders from the past year before ours came in. It is normal to wait a year for a custom...
