Firstly, Im impressed that your daughter plays a sixer... wow! I love sixers because you can chord using the bottom 4 strings very easily.. and still run bass lines with the other strings. It's a piece of wood that's been dubbed a "ramp" that helps you not to get your fingers caught under...

- A good rasp is great for neck shaping - I use a Shinto: Link Removed I second the Shinto... mine has a coarse rasp and a less coarse side.... then i used this little gem.... and then onto sandpaper 60 grit ... 80 grit... etc... I think its called a dragon something or other... I got...
