    Jaco's bass for SALE?!?!?

Total scam. It's a parts bass. $450.00 may be a more accurate value.

    J or P

I bring one of each with me to every gig. The P gets most of the work, but on songs where I solo or can take more creative liberty with my lines, I'll use the J.

Yet another "Which bass do I bring" thread...

The Lakland and a bag of carrots with Ranch dip.

I caved and finally bought a Fender P-bass (MIM content ahead)

Try a few different sets of strings and make your own comparisons. Make sure you don't clip the wrapped ends so you can restring with them again to suit your preference. I keep a few sets of "lightly-used" strings handy for my P and J basses and change them out to get particular sounds for...

Bass Malfunctions that Impacted Gigs - With Poll!!!

That happened about 17-18 years ago. I didn't know much about active basses then and always left it plugged in during breaks, not knowing that would drain the battery. I had a Gibson Grabber that I used as well and it became my main instrument. As I matured as a player, I happened to...

Bass Malfunctions that Impacted Gigs - With Poll!!!

    1. Broke a G string on the last song of a show. I slapped right through it puncturing my thumb and I spurted blood all over myself. 2. Battery died on an active bass mid-show. That was the last time I used an active bass on a gig. 3. Band's trailer was backed into and destroyed by a large...

    Early birthday surprise

2012 MIM. I've been GASsing for a cheap P Bass to mod and take out on the road with me this summer. I played it on the whole gig that night. My fingertips are blood-blistered from the roundwounds on it, but was well worth it.

    Early birthday surprise

In January of 2010, I gave $250 to a friend of mine to help get him home to NYC after his father passed. We haven't been in touch with each other much since, but I knew he was following my band on Facebook. I never have thought about this guy paying me back the $250. Long story short, he shows...

Fender Precision - around $2k bugbet, CS Used or Vintage 70-80?

My advice is to find an American Vintage 62 Reissue. They do come in black with rosewood board.

Items that you bring to every gig

Been packing my "Oh S**t!" bag on every gig for the last 17 years. It's got everything a band needs for those "Oh S**t!" moments- spare mics, speaker cables (for when the house doesn't have spares for their own PA- yes, it's happened), drum sticks and brushes, duct tape, meds for aches and...

So the Cliff Burton signature bass costs a little bit

In the late 90s, I had customer trade in a mid-80s Aria Pro II SB towards a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. It played horribly and sounded bland. The blue book value on it was embarrassing and we had a very hard time reselling it for $300. Aria is REALLY milking Cliff Burton's legacy with this.

That's it were no longer needed, bass players are done.*

As in not using an extended-range guitar to substitute for a bass guitar. No hard feelings.

" Fringed" precision bass on ebay LOL !

WOW! I dig the 21-fret neck. But the rest is a little on the "fringe"

I don't really care to play "Djent" music- sounds like "noise" to me. Although if I put my classical training to use on a 7-8 string guitar, and gave about a month or so of dedicated practice 3-4 hours a day, I could do it. However, I don't give 2 poops about that stuff. I play bass- real bass...
