How do you know if your bass is to big or small for you?

Hey, I was just thinking about getting a Danelectro Longhorn reissue. But I just want to make sure that it's a good bass and that it gets good reviews first? So, if any of you have a Danelectro Longhorn, tell me what you think of it.

Paul McCartney. He may have been melodic and all, but he is nowhere near as good as any of the bassists I grew up listening to. Not as good as Chris Squire or Geddy Lee. Sorry Paul McCartney fans.
