Kicking a dead thread. I just recently picked up a gorgeous mahogany on ash SB4000 on Reverb, serial #111050. Anybody know the magic decoder for what year it was made?

Same on my two octave Washburn. It works like a charm if you set both switch position tunings properly, which is harder than it ought to be sometimes.

Thanks man. I asked Washburn and they told me it was probably maple, but as a matter of fact it is 21-ply plywood. I'd suspect you are correct that it is laminated alder and mahogany. I'm in a middle of a wee project that I'll post pictures of sometime soon. Standby to standby. Tom
