I have both and think the ash tends to be a little brighter. IMHO

Thought I would give them a try after all the hype. These strings are not for me. I don't get it! I put these on my 1972 Stock P Bass and was not impressed. My first impression was kind of like Roto Sounds without any definition and twangy overtones. I am going back to Diaddario XL Nickel 45-105.

I'm in also. Beaver would make a great guest and I think would surprise a lot of people if he were to sit in with the band. Great player and a good person.

Fender products have been made by Mexicans for years. The name stamped on my 1966 Stratcaster or my 1972 Precision sure isn't Smith or Jones. From what I've seen the stuff looks the same as USA. The custom shop is a different story if you want to spend the money.IMHO

You might try the Schroeder 410 L. Will take a lot of power and is only 55Lbs. Also the Avatar 410 Neo which I have on order is under 60lbs. I will write a review when I get it. MS

If the speakers smell, then you could have a burned a voice coil. If this happens, the speaker cone is usually fozen and the speaker will not work. I have seen them slightly burned as well.

You might like the Schroeder 410L. Easy on the back and packs a punch. I have had a lot of cabs but this one does it all. Also two of the 1010's might work for larger gigs and use one for smaller gigs. Good Luck!
