Advice on Buying a Korean bass in Korea Please

So i just visited a store that had some Swing basses. There was a nice a fender jazz-like for a only 250$. The guys said it was made in Indonesia, which I guess is a new development, because from what I heard I thought all Swing stuff was made in Korea. Anyway, it played real nice for such a...

Advice on Buying a Korean bass in Korea Please

Thanks for the feedback. It's funny you mention Mapo-gu, I actually lived there breifly many years ago. I'll keep a look out for Swing and Ibanez. So anyone have experience with Dexter or Dame?

Advice on Buying a Korean bass in Korea Please

So I’m thinking about buying a Korean-made bass. I am actually living in Korea at the moment, in a small town near Mokpo and Gwangju. There are quite a few music shops in this area, and I have done a bit of shopping without buying anything yet. I am thinking about spending between 300-600...

    New Vox Basses

Anyone try busking with one of these?

anyone ever busk with just a bass.

So I just went for a busk tonight at a downtown metro station. It was pretty darn cold and I didn’t stay long. I was bit nervous and shakey, to be honest, but I guess it went ok, got a few tips. The songs with vocals and bass definitely got more attention than the instrumentals. I felt a...

anyone ever busk with just a bass.

Thanks for your feedback guys. Gopherbassist: I had my eye on a Roland Micro Cube but couldn't find one in Canada. The only ones available I'd have to order from the U.S. and this would have costed too much for my budget. So I ended up buying a used Pignose Hog 30. I think you're right...

Can't Find a Decent Battery Powered Bass Amp...

I echo the support for the Pignose Hog 30. I just picked one up used for 110$. So far so good. I haven't busked with it but I did jam with a drummer. He used brushes and didn't play that lightly and the little Hog did pretty well in terms of volume and presence.

    Busking Set List

So I’m thinking of trying my hand at busking solo with just bass and maybe vocals. I did a bit of busking last year, playing guitar with another guy. I’m thinking about trying solo bass as I’m a much better bassist than guitarist. Also, I'm getting tired of jamming with would-be bands that never...

anyone ever busk with just a bass.

I guess this thread is a little old, but maybe it can be revived. So I’m interested in trying out busking with just bass as well. I did a bit of busking last year, playing guitar with another guy. I’m thinking about trying solo bass as I’m a much better bassist than guitarist. So I have a set...

Issue with Yorkville 200 watt bass amp

Haven’t used this amp for anything but practice at low volume for a few years and it’s been good for that. I tried playing louder and it started make very unpleasant crackling, rattling sounds, this is with the volume and scoop (which is like gain) both up around 5 or more. It’s a bassmaster...

    Zoom BFX 708 Problem

Thanks for your responses. Ga-edwards you confirmed what I was thinking, that it wouldn’t be worth repairing and I think I am just going to move on. There seems to be a lot of people who like the B3 but I was thinking of maybe going the single effect route. Lately, I’ve been...

    Zoom BFX 708 Problem

I’ve had a Zoom BFX 708 pedal for about 15 years. It’s a digital multi-effects pedal + tuner and drum machine. I haven’t used it very much in bands, but made good use of it for practicing on my own. Anyways, it has been pretty unreliable for a while. It started cutting in and out slightly but...
