    Boost Pedals.

The LPB-1 also doesn't have a ton of clean boost on tap. It starts to get a bit distorted after about 2:00. Might do you just fine though if you don't need alot of boost though.

Afraid of going to music stores

Worse yet is when they assume you're not going to buy anything because of your age. It doesn't happen so often anymore, but several years ago if I didn't have a parent with me when I went to a music store I couldn't get them to even pay attention.

    Bass Strap Advice!!!

If you go to a leather strap, you don't need to go substantially wider. It seems to hug your back more and hold the instrument more evenly rather than just at the top of your shoulder. No idea why other than it clings to clothing more than a nylon strap.

    Stickers in neck pocket

They seem to be evenly placed on the pocket and don't seem to be causing much tilt, but I may take them out next time I have the neck off. Thanks for the help guys.

    Stickers in neck pocket

So I took apart my bass to add a shim and found two stickers on the back of the neck. Since they're the manufacture and date stickers, it seems like they'd be important, but if a playing/business card is enough to shim a neck significantly, do these stickers affect the neck angle? Should I take...

    Noob with an overdrive pedal.

    1) 400 @ 2 ohms, 250 @ 4 2) Combos just put unnecessary limitations on your rig. Look for a head and cab. 3) http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/amps-faq-info-ohms-allsize-rigs-overunderpowercabs-diy-techtalk-links-166225/

    Noob with an overdrive pedal.

You don't have to spend a ton of cash to get a half-decent amp that'll give you some room for growth. I just picked up a used Peavey Mark VI and a GK 15" cab for $200, not much more than you're looking to spend on a new behringer. The peavey has plenty more watts up its sleeve (can get down to...

Well Polished or Beat to Hell?

There's a difference between scuffed up and dirty. I don't mind if my bass gets a couple more dings, but I do care if its covered in crap.

Following the song vs. playing lowest freq notes

I guess I meant if you knew the guitar was playing with roots all on the A string. I wasn't really trying to get as technical as some of you were going for.

Following the song vs. playing lowest freq notes

I didn't really know what this is called so searching for it was a bit tricky. If a thread like this exists already, we can shut this one down. When playing in a band setting, do you guys follow the chord progression of the song or play the same notes but lower on the neck? Since I'm still...
