    Only a P-bass?

I have a MIJ 80s Fender P and just about to pickup a new MIA Standard P. Great big basses that sit well in the mix. Have tried Jazzes but the one pickup on a P gives me huge depth and warmth. Adding a back pickup does give more clarity but at the expense of the depth. Does anyone else find this...

    The mighty GK 400RB

Back to the original thread...I love my 400RB, will never sell it - but, when youre playing with guitarists who have 2 amps each and play loud, big stages...theres a point where the good old 400rb just gets louder but theres no 'punch', runs out of power. Got a Fender pro 800 second hand, this...

    The mighty GK 400RB

I've bought my 400RB new in the mid 90s. Never missed a beat. Started off eq'ing the mids out, as you do, but over time I set it fairly flat, just boosting bass. Have recently bought a Fender Pro 800 as the little amp wasnt quite cutting a loud rock gig. Seems to loose its presence - but not...

Mesa 4x10 - Can you identify it?

hahaha - thanks for your words of knowledge, is kinda heavy - but has those castors help and a bit of leverage gets it in and out of the wagon. Yes I know I should buy a Markbass system but I'm going through my "you cant deny the laws of physics" stage and sometimes you need real coneage - I'm...

Mesa 4x10 - Can you identify it?

Recently bought this well-used, older mesa boogie 4x10 powerhouse in roadready cab. It sounds great but, is it the real thing? Can anybody tell me anything about this model? Its 600 watts, 8 ohms.

Three 8 ohm cabinets with Fender Pro 800 amp?

The Fender Pro 800 is a fantastic amp. Very 'fender' sounding and heaps of power. Hugely under-rated. To get it cranking I have been running two 8-ohm cabinets - mesa 4x10 and EV 1x15. This then brings the load down to 4 ohms, which gets 800 watts from the amp. The Fender PRO 800 can run at...

Squier by Fender Vintage Modified TB Precision Bass Guitar:Worth Buying?

I've had this squier for a year or so. Its good to have around for working songs out, tried it a few times in rehearsals but just could not get it to sit in the mix...I'm an older player with 30 years experience, I love it in some ways, but not confident to use it professionally at a gig...

Latest US Fender P Standard - am I dreaming??

Thanks guys - I'm not dreaming, the latest fenders are fantastic. Some of the 80s fenders were terrible, heavy and just didnt feel right...I've got my name down for a new usa standard precision, cant wait..

Latest US Fender P Standard - am I dreaming??

Was talking about the latest genuine American Standard Precision. There's a pic on the fender website of a sunburst with a maple neck for this model, so I'm hoping of getting this..the store did say it was a 2 month wait as the sunburst is still the most popular by far

Latest US Fender P Standard - am I dreaming??

Tried a few of these in stores, and they are amazing. Have been playing over 30 years and real impressed with the current models. Doesnt feel like 2 bits of wood, feels like a bass should. I want to buy one - sunburst, maple neck. Has anyone else felt this..??

Fender Pro 800 - Has anyone tried these??

Thanks - theres a seconh hand one for sale and I'm in the market for a beefy amp

Fender Pro 800 - Has anyone tried these??

These amps have heaps of power, on paper. Has anyone out there in bass land tried one? Would it be suitable for a rocking, punky, loud 3-piece?

    is there life after GK400RB??

Thanks bass buddies. Dont really want to sell the 400RB, but maybe I will look at trying a few different heads out, more power. Did also think of running the 400RB through a 4x10 - mesa, swr..never done that before, just used the 210 & TL Bin, be good if it was a 4 ohm 4x10..

    is there life after GK400RB??

Thanks for your thoughts - will try some more powerful heads, and could even look at replacing the 200 watt TL, with a 400 watt model..

    is there life after GK400RB??

Been playing over 30 years, LOVIN IT, and have a beautiful 1985 Fender Japan P bass. My prayers have been answered and I am rocking out with a great loud rocknroll band - problem is my gear gets loud, but it doesnt have that warm power feeling when its loud. I have: 1990s GK400RB, running 4...
