    Fender Bassman TV fan mod.

I've always found the fan to be mightily distracting. Though you don't hear the fan in most cases, through softer passages and/or during at-home practices, I'd hear it often. After having had enough, I dug through the Internet looking for a replacement fan. Took a while, but I eventually found...

Disappointed in my Fender Bassman TV 15 - defective.

I opened it all up, except for taking the speaker out. Unfortunately, it's next to impossible to open the back to see what lies behind the speaker. I'd need to take it out completely to have access. Nothing that I could see was loose. Replacing the tube didn't eliminate the issue. The contacts...

Disappointed in my Fender Bassman TV 15 - defective.

Yeah, I hear you. The same with when I got my DeVille way back when. However, my research indicates that the 12AX7 tube in this amp doesn't really have any effect tone-wise. However, the tube's reliability might be in question right now. I'll see if I can easily get to it (since I never opened...

Thanks for the elaborate reply, Jim. :) The problem is that I don't have a bass cab to test this with, but it's true that the amp has a tube. Since I have spares, I could try replacing it to see if there's any improvement. Looks like I have some homework to do tonight!

Disappointed in my Fender Bassman TV 15 - defective.

Really? Then, I don't know what it possibly could be. When my DeVille had the same issue, I saw my tech replace the speaker and there was a tear... although it did take me a solid 5 minutes to finally find it. It was pretty small, but it was easily identifiable once you knew where it was...

Disappointed in my Fender Bassman TV 15 - defective.

Bought it in 2012 and had been perfectly thrilled with it every time I played. Unfortunately, I underestimated the bass thump of these and even though I lived in a concrete apartment building, the vibrations could nevertheless easily be heard/felt in adjoining quarters. Therefore, I played...

Buzz when I touch the strings? Huh?

UPDATE!!! Before bringing my Hofner to the tech, I found some new cables right after completing our renovations. Guess what? It was the *cable* that was causing the issue. Lesson learned. And money saved, too. Thanks to everybody who posted their suggestions. I really appreciated it. :)

Dating websites : yay or nay?

I'm married to a girl I met through an online dating website. Though I had to weed through a LOT of girls, but eventually found her. Honestly, easily the kindest most compassionate person I have ever known. People can say whatever they want but online dating is what allowed me to find her...

    Muddy sound when playing, now.

I have concrete floors as well, but I have a plastic membrane on top of it, then some plywood on top of that, and then carpet on top of *that.*

    Muddy sound when playing, now.

You're correct! I do have an iPad but was trying to do this with my Samsung S3. I'll just get the iPad and do it that way since I see that this particular RTA hasn't been converted to Android. I'm really intrigued with the idea of bass traps. The problem is that I'm not handy and the pro stuff...

Hmmmm,... how I do use this app? I just have a command prompt with no indication of what to type and nothing that I can click on (that I can see) that can start the process of examining audio.

Thanks for the tip, Luckydog! Although I own an Android phone, they did port that app to the Android platform. I look forward to using it.

    Muddy sound when playing, now.

Thanks for the tip. I had no idea, as I'm not a gigging musician. Yeah, I am pretty bummed. I try to be philosophical about it and tell myself there was no way for me to know in advance. Having said that, is there any way (or would it be even recommended for me) to add bass traps to...

    Muddy sound when playing, now.

It's already on casters. Yes. It's never been a problem before, though. :( No, but thats' because it doesn't have tilt legs. I could always buy a device to do so, but the problem isn't really that I'm not hearing the notes ; just that the notes reverberate in a muddy way. I don't believe...

Cheap 5-string pickups for Agile SX (Jazz) that will make a HUGE difference?

I have an Rondo Agile SX 5-string Jazz bass that I'd like to improve, but please realize we're talking about an instrument that cost me $90, so spending $100-200 on pickups isn't something I'd be too keen on. I was thinking of Seymour Duncan SJ5 67/70 pickups but they're too expensive at $130...
