I had that issue until I cranked the output gain up on the receiver to match that of using a cable. I think I have it around +30 dB.

A lot of modelers don't have balanced outs. (HX Stomp does via 1/4" TRS, but my Boss and Zoom units for example are unbalanced 1/4" TS)

I put labella white nylon tapes on my 1005F and it's fabulous. I don't plan on trying anything else, but I do keep a set of their metal LTF's in the gig bag as backups just in case.

My Everse 8 is great but if I were buying today I would probably try the QSC CB10 that just came out. I also have a JBL Eon One Compact - it sounds good but is maybe half the volume of the Everse 8 for about the same price.

The R40 is larger, but lighter than the R25. The 25 weighs as much as the 100 because of the MDF cab.

I use an Everse 8 for that, but it's not cheap. 17 lbs and battery powered with 3 channels though... My personal pick would be the Yamaha DBR10 but they're back up to $410 (they were $349 in December). Maybe an Alto TS408 ($275) or one of these Mackie's on sale right now for $249 would be good...

I've been surprised for years that people don't use re-amping devices with standard DI stems to compare/review any components downstream from the instrument. Pedals, preamps, cabs, mics, whatever... Why not feed them the exact same signal every time? The technology isn't complicated or expensive...

The cup/guitar holder is quite clever. Who makes it? I typically throw a yoga block under my cab, but the slant board is probably a better option.

SY-1000 is a beast that can pretty much do it all.

The Quilter 803 is small and light.

Most modelers and multifx have them, even the cheap ones from Zoom give you a bunch of options.
