We need an opening band in DC, details within, 3 upcoming dates

Tried Craigslist? This probably isn't the best place to be looking for a local act.

Taking it to the next level?

Taking it to the next level?

For an originals band that doesn't draw? Probably a great way to lose the gigs they have!

My drummer (and and he sings) of 12 years quit yesterday,

This was my thought as well. Guitar players are a dime a dozen.

    Running more than one EQ?

Eh, maybe, but unless he's trying to correct a specific problem there's just really no reason for a 31-band in the insert. OP, if I'm reading your original post correctly, you now have two 31-band, two channel EQs. If so, use one for mains and another for monitors (I'm assuming you only have...

    Running more than one EQ?

Do your channel strips not have EQs? Why would you be running and outboard EQ for individual instruments? A compressor, yes, but not an EQ. Are you experiencing feedback? If so, the likely culprit is your monitors, not the mains. I can run my FOH in most rooms with a flat EQ, but the montiors...

    Question for Bands and Management

Ok, what you're basically talking about is junker buses cheaply modified and sold to musicians who usually have no money. How many musicians do you know in your immediate area who would buy such a thing? My guess is it's a pretty limited market. If you start selling them outside your immediate...

    Question for Bands and Management

Again, the van can be used every day. A $5,000 tour bus?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Do you actually own said bus currently? I gotta see this.

    Question for Bands and Management

Incorrect. Say you sell a bus. As the happy new owner is driving away, a bolt you failed to tighten gives way, some critical part fails, and the bus slams into a granny and her eight grandkids. You're gonna need some insurance then. :hiding: All businesses need insurance, especially business...

    Question for Bands and Management

Are you selling or renting the bus? I know a few guys in regional acts that do the van/trailer thing. The van is their daily driver, and they hook up the trailer when they need to haul gear. You can't do that with a bus. Moreover, as many people have mentioned, most musicians are broke...

    Question for Bands and Management

I think you're going to find that there's a limited market for what you're trying to sell. The lower level acts don't have money for a bus, and the ones that do are already well served. I'm afraid you'll struggle to profit with a single bus.

    There's that... :D

    Question for Bands and Management

It's going to be hard to make a profit on a single bus once you figure in maintenance and repairs, especially WHEN that bus breaks down in the middle of nowhere and you have to pay some podunk weekend/emergency rates to get the bus running again so the lessee can make their gig. You really...

    Question for Bands and Management

How would you make a bus more "gig-worthy" than any other bus you could currently rent? Or are you trying to hit a lower price point? Before you do anything, though, contact an insurance broker that carries commercial lines and price out coverage for a rental fleet. My guess is it's not cheap.
