Hey all I'm interested in replacing the speaker in a Traynor model 1150 8ohm 200 watt cabinet. It's ok, but it could be better. Playing a guitar through this cabinet sounds better then bass. I think it's from the 70's

I'm almost 100% certain it is hackberry tree, closely related to elm. The third picture with the course bark is the giveaway. very heavy wood.

I played my Ric at band practice last weekend in stereo and because one of the guitarist couldn’t make practice and he was borrowing my guitar amp. It sounded awesome. But for the small gigs we get, it wouldn’t be something I’d make an effort to set up.

Ok, since I have a back up amp head I've never used and my bass rig has 2 cabinets I'll give it a shot at practice tomorrow night and see what happens. I liked the idea of standing between the cabinets. I don't think I'm going to fork out the money for a new amp head with two channels yet...
