Maybe some of you saw my post a few days ago on a pawnshop find I came across. I said in the post that I wouldn’t buy it. Well, as Maury might say, “That was a lie. “
They had it priced a bit high I thought , but the owner turned out to be pretty reasonable and we worked out a price which seemed extremely fair to me. I'd gone back and plugged it in and thought the extra electronics weren't working, G note generator to tune to, the active bass/treble boost, and sadly,..the built in fuzz circuit. None were functional as it sat. It also was missing the bridge cover and the pawnshop guy thought it didn't have the original case. The problems with the electronics, bridge and case , helped me with lowering the price almost 25%.
We agreed to a price, he fetched the case, which turned out to be the original, AND, the bridge cover was in there too! Paid up , took it home, showed it off to my less than impressed, but very tolerant lovely wife,
and proceeded to check out the electronics. Popped off the back pad , opened it up,...and low and behold,....there's the 9 volt plug,...with NO BATTERY attached! 
I quickly grab a 9 volt, plug it in, run upstairs to the mancave, plug in to my GK rig,...and VOILA! G note generator works! I try the bass/treble boost,..it works! Then,...the built in fuzz,.....OMG! It not only works,...it sounds glorious!!!! All the issues that drove the price down turn out to be non issues! SCORE!!!!
As to how she plays,.....it's going to take some getting used to with that 30" scale and the pencil thin neck, its really jacking with my muscle memory. The action goes ultra low and the tone is really nice and thick, with plenty of bite. I'm guessing the weight at about 6.5 lbs, so it definitely has some neck dive with the canoe paddle headstock, but I can live with that. My shure wireless transmitter helped balance things out a bit when I put it on the strap.
Anyway,..enough talk,......here she is, I believe a 1967 Vox Constellation IV. Flash me back to the '60's baby!
